Kiev suggests helping ISIL fight against Russia

Anton Gerashchenko, an aide to the Ukrainian Interior Minister, people's deputy of Ukraine, calls on Ukrainians to collect information on the citizens that are involved in the special operation against the “Islamic State” (IS, ISIL) to report it to the “Mirotvorets” (“Peacemaker”) website the minister has created.

According to Gerashchenko, it is necessary for the IS terrorists and their “brotherhood” to take revenge on the officers of the Russian Aerospace Forces for Russia’s “undeclared war” allegedly against the Syrian people. “Their images will be enough for the IS militants and their brothers in arms in Russia, in the Caucasus, to find them later and take revenge on them according to the Shariat law. I think with such a turn of events, the balls and heads of these technicians may not make it intact,” Gerashchenko says.

“Will the world community notice those statements by Gerashchenko who supported the nationalists in Donbass or it will keep silent again?” asks the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper and recalls that the “Mirotvorets” website became popular after the murder of journalist Oles Buzina and politician Oleg Kalashnikov.  On the eve of the assassination, the unknown published the telephones and addresses of Buzina and Kalashnikov on the above website. Yet, judging by the comments, the initiative of the Ukrainian official prompted mainly negative response, the newspaper writes.

“While prisons are fool with the Ukrainian patriots charged with mythical terrorist acts, the minister’s aide offers cooperation with real terrorist organization! It is nothing but hypocrisy! It is nothing but terrorism! Glory to Ukraine! Down with Treason!” Anatoly Shariy, a Ukrainian blogger replied to Gerashchenko.

The comments of the Ukrainians are rather impressive too: “When will Ukrainian military save the world from the ISIL terrorists? When will they start protecting the civilian population of Syria from Putin? We are waiting for that miracle!” “Undeclared war of Russia against the Syrian people? What about the Holy undeclared war of Ukraine against the Ukrainian people?”  “Syria is far away, while here, right under our noses, the former criminals openly run for parliament…We must care for ourselves, not for those far away.  The internal enemy proved much more horrible and rancid that Russia’s aggression.” “It is strange reading the posts of the Ukrainian official about the conflict of one foreign country against another. Why ISIL? Why Syria? Have you already settled all the problems in Ukraine? It is so unserious!”

It is noteworthy that the Chief Intelligence Department of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry has published comprehensive data on the Russian military contingent in Syria on its website. Meantime, Ukrainian experts are skeptical about the practical value of the data published by the Ukrainian intelligence.

“Such reports in the press are an attempt to justify the spending on the intelligence ahead of the discussions on the State Budget, rather than an attempt to demonstrate professional skills,” Kost Bondarenko, a political analyst, posted on Facebook.

As EADaily reported earlier, on September 30, the Council of the Federation studied the issue of using Russia’s Armed Forces abroad. All the members of the upper chamber voted for the idea and supported Vladimir Putin’s request. Later, Sergey Ivanov, the head of the Russian President’s Administration, explained that the Russian troops will be deployed in Syria.
