Prime Minister of Moldova Valeriu Strelet believes that the protesters urging the Moldovans not to pay the bills are posing a threat to the country’s energy security. “Such calls may put us on the verge of energy instability,” he said.
According to Strelet, the resolution adopted by the Demnitatea si Adevar civic platform is an opinion rather than a document.
NOI.md quotes Strelet as saying that the Cabinet should address the protesters. “You may have claims against your government but you must not try to put your country on the verge of an energy crisis. This is a crime,” the Moldovan prime minister said.
He is ready to negotiate with the protesters. “We should first agree on what the government should do and only if it fails, will we have to discuss changes in it,” Strelet said.
The people currently protesting in Chisinau are calling on the Moldovans to stop paying the bills to the criminal regime ruling their country.
