Two independent western gas traders have started gas supplies to Ukraine, CEO of Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev said on Facebook.
“A tandem of two Western gas traders is starting to operate on the Ukrainian market. This is the first time a gas trader has agreed not only to supply gas to the border but also to sell in inside the country,” Kobolev said, without specifying the names of the companies.
“This is confidential information but in due time their names will become known,” he said, adding only that the traders were ready to pay VAT.
As EADaily reported earlier, in Aug 2015 Ukraine imported 1.032bn c m from Europe, with all of the gas coming from Slovakia.
