Neo-Nazis from Azov Battalion block entrance to State Fiscal Service in Kiev city center

Today, on July 31, troopers of the Ukrainian Azov battalion have blocked the entrance to the building of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine in the center of Kiev demanding that Atek Plant is not transferred to Donetsk businessmen, 112 TV reports.

A special base of the Azov Regiment is located at the Plant Atek where they repair their military hardware and recruit potential volunteers who have also joined the picketers today, a correspondent of the 112 TV reported.

It is noteworthy that the Atek Plant’s bankruptcy procedure was launched yet in 2012. In November 2014, raiders seized the plant with the support of the men in the uniform of the Azov Battalion.

EADaily’s note: Azov is a volunteer formation in the National Guard of Ukraine. By various reports, Ukrainian tycoon Igor Kolomoisky sponsored the formation of the battalion in May 2014. The battalion expanded into a regiment last autumn. Azov comprises dedicated nationalists – Ukrainians and mercenaries from other countries. The regiment’s flag resembles the Nazi SS symbol.  Reportedly, the militaries of the Azov Regiment regularly humiliate and commit military crimes against the peaceful population. The regiment is headquartered in Mariupol.
