Electric power and water supply in Sochi should be restored within 24 hours. Acting Governor of the Krasnodar Krai Veniamin Kondratyev entrusted the local authorities with such task at a meeting of the Emergency Situation Commission.
By the latest data, flash flooding submerged 490 houses in Adler, 68 houses in Khosta, and the houses in Lazarevsky district. Water is still being pumped out of the households and basements. In Adler, 225 people and 54 pieces of equipment are involved in the process. The water pumping will be continued tomorrow involving 22 tank-cars.
As many as 279 people voluntarily evacuated from their homes. They have been placed at health resorts, hotels, and kindergartens. Evacuation of the people from the flood-destroyed houses continues.
