The Moldovan, Transnistrian and Russian co-chairs of the Joint Control Commission will shortly meet in Bender on Moldova’s initiative.
According to Moldovan Co-chair, General Ion Solonenco, the key topic of the meeting will be “free movement in the Dniester security zone.”
This topic was the key stumbling stone for the commission when it last met on June 26 2014. “Since then we have been trying to come to terms based on the parties’ proposals,” Solonenco said.
The second topic will be the plan of action of the Joint Staff of the Joint Peacekeeping Force for 2015. The meeting is expected to involve OSCE and Ukrainian delegates.
