The Ukrainian army has opened field depots on the border with the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), where it has almost 2,000 tons of ammunition in stock, Spokesman of the DPR Defense Ministry Eduard Basurin said on May 14.
“They continue deploying heavy weapons and ammunition. Our intelligence registered Uragan and Grad systems, infantry combat vehicles, tanks, self-propelled artillery systems near the contact line,” Basurin said.
As EADaily reported earlier, on May 13, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko told ZDF from Germany that the Kiev authorities were strongly committed to settle the conflict in Donbass by means of war. “We will not allow anybody to come with arms and to beat us. This is our land,” Poroshenko said.
He took back his promise to win back the Donetsk airport. He advised the journalist who asked the question not to read Russian newspapers. But Poroshenko’s promise can still be found on his website.
