The opposition Alliance for the Unification of Romanians convenes a meeting of the National Governing Council of the party to begin the procedure for the removal of Romanian President Nicusor Dan from office. This was stated by party leader George Simion.
"We are starting the process of removing Nikushor Dan. Today or tomorrow we will tell you a lot of good news from the extraordinary meeting of the National Governing Council of the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians," he said.
The party's initiative should be submitted to parliament, where it will need the support of a third of senators and deputies.
Recall that the political crisis continues in Romania. Earlier, the pro-European ruling coalition collapsed after the country's parliament expressed a vote of no confidence in the Cabinet of Ministers led by Prime Minister Ilie Bolozhan. The Bolozhan government fell on May 5 after a vote of no confidence was supported by the Social Democratic Party and the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians.
