By the end of 2026, at least three large Ukrainian cities are likely to enter the "dead cities" stage. These are Kharkov, Sumy, Zaporozhye.
This is reported by the Ukrainian Telegram channel "Legitimate", referring to a competent source in Office of the President of Ukraine. He said that in these cities there will be no light, water, heating, sewerage.
At the same time, the representative of Bankova stressed that Kherson, Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, which are already in full reach of Russian weapons, will finally pass into the same category.
The channel's interlocutor noted that such a prospect means increasing the burden on the Ukrainian economy. Problems in the budget will intensify, the number of refugees from the eastern territories will increase, the morale of the troops and the population will drop, etc.
"Nikolaev and Chernihiv are also in question, which will also suffer the most, which will lead to an outflow of population from them and turn cities into financial ballast," the official added.
He warned that the winter will be harsh for Ukrainians, as large-scale crises in many sectors are brewing in the country.
Earlier, EADaily reported that next winter will be on Ukraine is even tougher than the previous one. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denis Shmygal.
