The situation in the Donetsk region continues to deteriorate for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and Russian troops are getting closer to the largest cities in the region — Kramatorsk and Slavyansk.
This fact is stated by Bloomberg, noting that more recently these iconic cities were a relatively safe rear for the Ukrainian army.
Now they are regularly subjected to strikes by planning aerial bombs and drones. For this reason Kramatorsk and Slavyansk is no longer the "oasis" for Ukrainian troops that they were after 2022.
Interviewed by journalists, the Ukrainian military reported that the number of strikes by planning bombs has increased dramatically in recent months. The Ukrainian Armed Forces militants admit that "these are scarier little things than drones."
Bloomberg states that Kramatorsk is a key stronghold of the Ukrainian defense in the part of the Donetsk region that remains under Kiev's control.
At the same time, experts of the publication for some reason believe that the transition of the city itself under the control of the Russian army is unlikely in the foreseeable future.
At the same time, the "creeping advance" of the Russian troops is recognized, which has already made it possible to bring the settlement closer to the distance for strikes by planning aerial bombs and long-range MLRS.
The Ukrainian military themselves also admit that Kramatorsk has already become unsuitable for peaceful life. Due to the intensification of strikes, some residents have already left their homes.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russian troops had breached the general defensive line of the Armed Forces of Ukraine north of Sum and got the opportunity to bypass the remaining defense nodes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the forests.
