Planes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine land at the Marculesti airfield in Moldova. This was stated to RIA Novosti by Russian Ambassador to Chisinau Oleg Ozerov.
"We also see the modernization of the airport in Marculesti. We see that Ukrainian military transport planes regularly land there. Probably, they are not carrying potatoes with cottage cheese," he said.
Because of this, there are special questions to the authorities of the republic, Ozerov added.
"And they concern, first of all, the observance by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova of their own constitutional status as a neutral state," the ambassador explained.
As EADaily reported, Moldova acts as one of the main transshipment points for illegal arms traffic from Ukraine. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that any such cargo would become a legitimate target for Russia, but no real action was taken.
