Scandalous businessman Ilya Traber has been detained in St. Petersburg, who is suspected of organizing the contract killing of Vyborg deputy and businessman Alexander Petrov, shot by a sniper in October 2020. Together with Traber, his business partner Vladimir Danilenko was allegedly detained. The investigation is considering several motives for what happened. For example, Petrov's testimony against Traber in the case of the ex-head of the Finance Committee of the Vyborg district administration, Alexander Boluchevsky, who in 2022 received 8 years in prison for fraud and bribery. Or a conflict over the assets of the Vyborg Shipyard.

It is known that shortly before his death, Petrov tried to sell the business and planned to leave for Spain.

In the afternoon of June 17, RBC already clarifies, Traber's office on Starorusskaya Street of the northern capital was sealed. Moreover, there was a distinct footprint on the door, a police car was on duty at the gate. Plainclothes people in front of the entrance confirmed that FSB and police officers were working inside and did not let outsiders in.
