The commander of the German Air Force, Holger Neumann, in an interview with the British edition of the Telegraph, listed potential targets in Russia that could be attacked by NATO in the event of a direct military conflict.
The statement of the German general has already caused a wide resonance in Europe and beyond.
According to Neumann, the alliance's strikes will fall on strategically important objects. First of all, it is Kaliningrad, surrounded by NATO countries. Then the Kola Peninsula, where, as Western intelligence notes, Moscow allegedly accumulates nuclear weapons. Also on the list of targets are St. Petersburg with its key naval forces and the Black Sea area with the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
According to the new head of the Luftwaffe, Germany is ready to "fight even tonight" and defend "every inch" of the alliance's territory. At the same time, he said that Russia's attack on Estonia would be regarded in the same way as the air raid on London, and would entail a similar response.
