The Central Election Commission of Armenia annulled the results of voting at one of the polling stations in Yerevan during the parliamentary elections on June 7. The results were also canceled at the site in Agarak, Syunik region.
The results of voting at the 10/51 polling station were declared invalid, CEC Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan announced at an extraordinary meeting, reports News.am . This site is located in the Nubarashen administrative district in Yerevan.
"To invalidate the results of voting at polling station No. 10/51," reads the decision, the text of which was read out by Hovakimyan.
On the day of voting, Armenian media reported that a large number of military personnel were brought to the 10/51 polling station a few minutes before the end of voting, who continued to vote after 19.00 Moscow time, when polling stations were supposed to close.
How this decision affects the overall distribution of votes is still unknown.
In the June 7 elections, the ruling Civil Contract party received the largest number of votes — 49.81% (727,160 votes). Opposition parties claimed significant violations during the voting.
