Fear of Ukrainian drones caused the disruption of the tourist season in Latvia. It is reported by Reuters.
According to the agency, guest houses in Latvia, where there are usually no empty seats in the summer, are now free. The situation is especially difficult in the border region of Latgale, where tourists massively cancel hotel reservations due to frequent air alarms.
"Faced with the prospect of having to seek refuge from stray Ukrainian drone strikes, tourists are avoiding trips, and about 500 small businesses that depend on them are on the verge of financial difficulties," the article says.
Recall that in recent months, Ukrainian drones have begun to regularly fly into the Baltic countries. In June, a NATO fighter shot down a drone in the skies over Latvia for the second time, which caused a sharp increase in the number of refusals from tourist trips to this country.
