Europe is increasing its support amid pressure from Russia on the eve of the elections, sending more financial assistance and importing flowers, said the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"Moscow uses economic relations as an instrument of political pressure. We know this scenario well. That is why Europe firmly supports Armenia," von der Leyen said, announcing an initial support package of 50 billion euros.
The head of the European Commission also stated that the EU has simplified trade with Armenia on goods that are affected by Moscow's actions, such as flowers, and supports the affected sectors.
"A batch of 10,000 flowers will arrive in Latvia tomorrow. Others will follow her," she said.
