Estonian Prime Minister: Ukrainian UAVs will fly to us, but we will not shoot them down

Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said that Ukraine cannot prevent its own strikes on the Baltic States.

"I think it's almost impossible," he said.

According to him, drones fly in an unpredictable direction due to the effects of electronic warfare systems.

The Estonian prime minister urged not to expect that the armed forces will be able to shoot down every drone, since the flight path is not always predictable, the devices fly low and it is difficult to notice them.

"In addition, if we are talking, for example, about a densely populated area, the defense forces or the police make their own decision every time. Sometimes it is impractical to shoot down a drone. If it is a drone with explosives that flies aimlessly by, it will not necessarily be shot down, because it can cause harm to the civilian population," said Michal.

In mid-May, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry apologized to Estonia and other Baltic countries due to "unintended incidents" with Ukrainian drones. The representative of the Ukrainian department clarified that Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland did not provide their airspace for strikes on Russia, and Kiev did not address these countries with such requests.
