Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder will not represent Europe in negotiations with Russia — this is Putin's idea. This was stated by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna.
"Gerhard Schroeder is Putin's idea. I think they have a very close relationship. Therefore, Schroeder will not represent Europe. We already have European institutions for this. We have Kaya Callas, Antonio Costa, Ursula von der Leyen. We don't need someone who will knock on the Kremlin's doors and offer something," Tsakhkna said, quoted by Pool No. 3.
At the same time, the Estonian minister once again outlined the EU's "negotiating platform".
"We understand perfectly well what kind of Europe we want to see. We want Russia to be pushed back to its borders. We want that between the European Union, NATO and There were no gray areas left for Russia. That is why the process of expanding and rebuilding Ukraine continues. All the red lines have already been marked," Tsakhkna said.
However, according to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin is absolutely not ready to "talk about a lasting and just world," he complained.
As reported by EADaily, the head of the European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, is ready to replace Gerhard Schroeder in the negotiations EU with Russia. She stated this at a briefing.
