The likelihood of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine jumped to 100% by May 31. This is evidenced by the data of the Polymarket forecasting platform, where users place bets on political and world events.

"Before that, the market estimated the chances of a truce at only a few percent," the Strana publication comments on the picture of the day.

It is noted that the growth of indicators began amid talks about a truce on May 9.

Meanwhile, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that Washington wants to end the conflict on Ukraine as soon as possible, but it requires a lot of effort.

"America wants quick results, but they are not always possible, because negotiations are very complicated, there are a lot of details. America has said before that they would like to do it as soon as possible, that it can be solved almost overnight. But this, unfortunately, is not the case, it requires more effort," Peskov told Zvezda.

As reported by EADaily, US President Donald Trump expressed the hope that a truce between Russia and Ukraine may be extended.

On Friday, Trump said that from May 9 to 11, between Russia and Ukraine will operate a ceasefire. This was confirmed in Moscow and Kiev.
