The Commissioner for Human Rights in Tatyana Moskalkova of the Russian Federation announced the discovery of two of our officers who were previously considered missing.
As the RIA Novosti news agency reports, the Ombudsman informed about this at the ceremony of laying flowers to the monument in the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora.
"Just yesterday I received photos of our officers from Ukraine. Families have been looking for them for more than a year. Thanks to our efforts, we not only found them, but we received photos and letters from the Ukrainian side to relatives and friends," Tatyana Nikolaevna said.
According to her, the Russian military were captured on Ukraine, and for more than 12 months no one knew anything about their fate. It also became known that one of them was sentenced by the Ukrainian side to 12 years in prison, the other to 16 years.
As reported by EADaily, earlier Tatyana Moskalkova said that the Ministry of Defense and the special services of Russia are negotiating with the Ukrainian side on a daily basis about a new exchange of prisoners of war.
