Ukraine called on partners to support the ceasefire initiative from May 6. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga.
Kiev is ready to stop the fighting on the night of May 6 and move to a diplomatic end to the war, he said.
"May 6 will show what Russia wants: peace or military parades. The world cannot wait until the "parades" and "holidays," said Sibiga, quoted by RBC — Ukraine.
As reported by EADaily, the Russian Defense Ministry announced a truce on May 8-9 in honor of Victory Day.
The corresponding decision was made by President Vladimir Putin.
