Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov wrote poems to the song of the singer, Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Marshal. The joint work of the diplomat and the musician in the song "These dates" is reported by TASS.
"Dear friends, I want to express my gratitude from the bottom of my heart for your attention to the song that we wrote together with Alexander Marshal. I want to thank Sasha for the wonderful music on which he put my poems," Lavrov said in a video message to the audience of the XXV Chanson of the Year award ceremony.
In the song "These dates" we are talking about important milestones in life for every person, which "no one will dare to take away."
The publication reminds that Lavrov has been fond of poetry since his youth, his works have been published in many literary magazines and collections over the years. In particular, the diplomat wrote the anthem of his alma mater - MGIMO (Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation).
As reported by EADaily, in April 2024 Lyubov Uspenskaya became the winner of the "Chanson of the Year — 2024" award with the song "My Strength is with me" to the poems of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
In December of the same year, the ceremony of awarding the XXIX national music prize "Golden Gramophone" opened with a composition based on Zakharova's poems "Return the Memory" performed by Elena Sever and soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Roman Shirokikh, accompanied by a symphony orchestra conducted by the artistic director of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters Valery Gergiev.
In December 2025, Zakharova shared the song of rapper Ptah (David Nureyev) "White Flock", the author of the text of which she is.
