Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved Chairman of the Supreme Court of Dagestan Fyodor Shchukin for the post of head of Dagestan.
The candidacy of the President of Russia was announced by the head of the National Assembly of Dagestan.
Commenting on the choice of candidate, Putin gave Shchukin a personal description. The President called him a decent person, able to work in principle, but without unnecessary conflicts.
"It works in principle, but without conflict. This is a talent," the head of state noted.
Shchukin is 49 years old, he was born in the village of Pochinki, Pochinkovsky district, Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod) region. Graduated from law school, worked as a legal adviser at industrial enterprises of the region. He acted as a deputy of the district zemstvo assembly in the Nizhny Novgorod region, then worked as a justice of the peace and a judge of the district court. In May 2013, he was awarded the fourth qualification class of a judge.
In March 2024, Shchukin was appointed chairman of the Supreme Court of Dagestan.
EADaily reported that Putin today, on April 30, announced the transfer of the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, to another job.
"Fedor Alekseevich should continue what has been done so far — and not only by Sergey Alimovich, but also by other leaders. He will have to meet the requirements imposed by people who bring a person to such a high position, including the deputies of the Parliament of the republic will have to evaluate his work," the president said.
