Sweden confiscated the vessel of the Russian "shadow fleet" at the request of a third country. This is reported by the Swedish Prosecutor's office.
We are talking about the bulk carrier Caffa, suspected of transporting "stolen Ukrainian wheat", which was detained by the Swedish Coast Guard in March. According to the prosecutor's office, the vessel is being confiscated upon request for "mutual legal assistance" from another country, which one is not specified (presumably, this is Ukraine. — EADaily).
"A foreign authority has requested that certain investigative measures be carried out in Sweden, including one related to the Caffa vessel. I decided to confiscate the vessel so that the court could consider whether it could be transferred to another country," said Prosecutor Hakan Larsson.
As reported by EADaily, Kiev demands that Israel arrest the Russian vessel PANORMITIS with grain. This was stated in his telegram channel by the country's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
Recall, the Swedish authorities boarded the bulk carrier CAFFA with a Russian crew in the Baltic Straits. This was reported by the Russian Embassy in Sweden.
It was noted that the vessel was sailing under the Guinean flag and was detained while passing through the Baltic Straits in the territorial waters of Sweden. Almost the entire crew are Russian citizens.
