In Europe, they are outraged that in response to the transfer to the "trust management" of Russian companies in the EU, Russia went the same way. Brussels pointed this out as one of the reasons for the new 20th package of sanctions.
The European Union is outraged that Russia is responding to the European Union's "temporary management" of Russian companies with the same measures. Brussels adopted the 20th package of sanctions against Russia. In terms of energy, Russian refineries, new tankers and export companies fell under it. Outrage The EU noticed in the very text of the law on sanctions the deputy director of the FNEB Alexei Grivach.
"To comment here is just to spoil," the expert wrote, citing the entire paragraph of the law.
"The Government of the Russian Federation has illegally introduced the so-called "temporary management" of property located on the territory of the Russian Federation and owned by foreign persons associated with the so-called "unfriendly foreign states," that is, states that have introduced restrictive measures against Russia. This so-called "temporary management" is tantamount to expropriation. Thus, the Government of the Russian Federation withdraws competitors of Russian companies from the European Union from the Russian market, giving the latter an economic advantage over these and other foreign competitors, thereby strengthening the resilience of the Russian economy to restrictive measures that affect it," the text of the law says.
Brussels is even more outraged by the fact that "in some cases, the so-called "temporary management" is provided even to Russian competitors from the European Union, giving them a direct economic advantage over these competitors.
"In order to strengthen the framework of restrictive measures taken by the Union, it is advisable to grant the Council the right to compile a list of Russian companies that are subject to a ban on operations that benefit from such illegal so-called "temporary management", in particular, by "temporarily" taking over management in Russian property and organizations owned or controlled by organizations established in The Union, or by working in the same market sector as these organizations owned or controlled by the Union. In some cases, exceptions should be provided," the document says.
As reported by EADaily , the transfer of Russian enterprises of companies from the EU under temporary management in Russia began in response to similar measures in the EU itself. The most famous cases are the nationalization of Gazprom Germania, which is both one of the largest gas importers in the country and the owner of gas pipelines and storage facilities. Berlin took the company from Gazprom in April 2022. Next is the PCK refinery in Schwedt. It is under the control of two Rosneft enterprises, which were transferred to the trust management of the Federal Grid Agency in the fall of 2022. German companies continue to be owned by Rosneft, but Berlin demands to sell them or threatens with nationalization.
