The murder of the leaders of Roskomnadzor was being prepared, the leader of the terrorists was shot dead — FSB

The Ukrainian special services were preparing a terrorist attack against the leaders of Roskomnadzor — the supporters of neo-fascist ideology recruited by Kiev had to blow up the officials' car. Seven suspects were detained, the alleged leader of the group was killed while providing armed resistance. This was reported in the Public Relations Center of the FSB of Russia.

"On April 18, 2026, a terrorist act against the leaders of Roskomnadzor was prevented, which was planned by blowing up a car using an explosive device," the report says.

As noted in the FSB, as a result of the events held in Moscow, Ufa, Novosibirsk and Yaroslavl detained "seven supporters of right-wing radical and neo-fascist ideology, recruited by the special services of Ukraine through the Telegram messenger, who participated in the preparation of the crime."

"The leader of the terrorist group, a resident of Moscow born in 2004, put up armed resistance with the use of firearms during the arrest and was neutralized," the special service said.

During the searches, improvised explosive devices weighing 1 kg, an F-1 grenade, and a pistol were seized from the suspects. A PM with a device for silent shooting, two gas pistols, walkie-talkies, neo-Nazi paraphernalia and symbols of Ukrainian paramilitary formations, as well as instructions on joining the Ukrainian terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation. Criminal cases on illegal trafficking of weapons and explosive devices have been initiated, and the issue of bringing detainees to criminal responsibility for preparing for a terrorist attack is being resolved.

According to the footage of the video distributed by the FSB, the young people were detained at their places of residence. The 22-year-old gang leader, as follows from the video, opened fire on law enforcement officers with a pistol and was neutralized in the bathroom.

The administrator of the group, a girl, was also detained.

"In March 2026, I joined the chat, where I offered my help in the production of leaflets. I was made an administrator in the group where the assassination attempt on the deputy head of the RCN was being prepared," she said.

The FSB stressed that the Ukrainian special services are trying to disrupt the activities of Roskomnadzor to ensure the security of the information space, including blocking Telegram, which is massively used by the enemy for sabotage, terrorist, extremist, cyberbullying and other serious crimes.

In social networks, the FSB information caused a skeptical reaction.
