The President of Lithuania tried to convince Peter Magyar, who won the Hungarian elections, to remove the veto from the EU loan to Kiev. This is reported by the Lithuanian media.
It is reported that on April 21, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda had a telephone conversation with the leader of the Tisa party that won the parliamentary elections in Hungary. He expressed hope that Budapest will soon make decisions on financial assistance to Ukraine, strengthening sanctions and unblocking funds from the European Peace Fund. At the same time, Nauseda stressed that Ukraine's membership in the EU "is directly related to the security of the whole of Europe."
Earlier, Hungary blocked the allocation of 90 billion euros of credit to Kiev due to Ukraine's termination of the transit of Russian oil. At the same time, Magyar had previously stated that he was ready to reconsider this issue after he came to power.
