A maniac and murderer from Zelenograd near Moscow, Yuri Gritsenko, who is better known as the "Zelenograd Chikatilo", died in a special military operation zone.
This is reported by the Telegram channel Shot, noting that the serial killer served in the Storm Z squad. He voluntarily went to SMO in September 2023, after leaving the colony on parole.
The channel also informs that for health reasons Gritsenko was able to enroll only in a sanitary evacuation platoon. The maniac has no relatives left, so he will be buried in the LPR beforehand.
Gritsenko is a former policeman who was fired for drunkenness from the authorities. First, he beat a prostitute with a frying pan, and then he got into the taste and began to hunt victims in the Zelenograd forest Park.
From April to November 2001, the "hammer fighter", as he was dubbed in the press, killed 4 and mutilated 10 women. He kept the whole of Moscow and the region in fear. The bus driver Anatoly Sukhov managed to detain the maniac on November 19, 2001, when he heard the screams of one of the victims.
On June 14, 2002, the murderer was sentenced to 22 years in prison, found guilty of 14 robberies and robberies, four murders and attempted murders.
The criminal served his term in the Mordovian colony No. 10, where he attacked employees and cellmates, and also tried to arrange a riot.
After such antics, the maniac was isolated from other convicts, and he spent 13 years of his imprisonment in solitary confinement. Zelenograd Chikatilo returned to the general mode only in 2015.
For several years, the maniac worked in a woodworking workshop, in 2020 his mental state deteriorated sharply. He was monitored by a special psychiatric commission.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Atsamaz Buraev, a native of South Ossetia, who died in the SMO zone, was presented to the title Hero of Russia. The officer was awarded a high award posthumously for saving his comrades at the cost of his own life.
