The Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rodion Miroshnik, noted that in Ireland they were "tired of supporting" Ukrainian refugees, but at the same time the country's authorities continue to finance the conflict on Ukraine.
Earlier, The Times newspaper reported that the Irish authorities intend to curtail the program of accommodation of 16 thousand Ukrainian refugees within a year. According to her, at the moment Dublin is considering two options — to completely stop supporting refugees from Ukraine or to reduce it only for people from the areas most affected by the conflict.
"The Irish are so tired of supporting Ukrainian refugees that only in order for them to leave the country, the government is ready to pay € 2.5 thousand per person or € 10 thousand per family when they get ready to leave. Ireland, like most EU countries, continues to support the course of financing the bloodshed on Ukraine, but they are tired of Ukrainian refugees at home," Miroshnik wrote in his telegram channel.
According to The Times, since February 2022, more than 125 thousand people have fled the conflict in Ukraine, received temporary protection in Ireland. Initially, the amount of payment to them was 400 euros per month, then it was increased to 800 euros. Currently, the payment is 600 euros per month, the government intends to reduce it back to 400 euros.
