The Strait of Hormuz is open only under certain conditions, despite all US assurances to the contrary, Iranian Defense Ministry spokesman General Reza Talainik said, his words are reported by Tasnim news agency.

"The Strait of Hormuz is open only under a ceasefire and under certain conditions, therefore military vessels and vessels associated with hostile forces have no right to pass through the Strait of Hormuz," he said, commenting on Trump's words.

He added that in the event of a resumption of Israeli attacks on Lebanon, the blocking of the strait will resume.

"In case of pressure on the Lebanese brothers and sisters, the situation will return to its previous state," the general warned.

On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, in connection with the ceasefire in Lebanon, said that the passage of all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is fully open for the duration of the ceasefire. After that, Trump thanked Tehran, but said that the blockade of Iran's seaports remains and will remain in force until the deal with Iran is 100% implemented.

At the same time, the source in Iran's Supreme National Security Council said Tehran would close the passage if the US continued to blockade ports. Trump, in turn, refused to remove it before signing a peace treaty. According to him, this should happen soon, since most of the points have already been agreed.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began striking targets in Iran, and more than 3 thousand people became victims of aggression. On April 8, Washington and Tehran announced a cease-fire for two weeks. The negotiations that took place after that in Islamabad ended in vain. At the same time, the resumption of hostilities was not reported, but the United States began a blockade of Iranian ports. The mediators are trying to organize a new round of negotiations.
