Roman D., who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine until 2024, arrested for a knife attack on passers-by in the center of Amsterdam, does not repent of what he did and is ready to do it again. This was announced by a representative of the Dutch prosecutor's office during the preliminary hearing.
According to the testimony of prison staff, Roman explained to them that he had done everything right, and the European taxpayer "should pay" for financing the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In addition, a 31-year-old citizen of Ukraine admitted that he deliberately stabbed his victims in the back.
According to the testimony of witnesses from Ukraine familiar with the attacker, the suspect served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine until 2024. He often talked about his intention to go to Europe, go to prison and "enjoy receiving benefits and payments." Then others took it "as a joke." Now he has been sent for observation to a psychiatric clinic, and because of this, the case may be delayed.
At the moment, the suspect remains in custody. The next preliminary meeting is scheduled for July 1.
As reported by EADaily, the incident occurred on the afternoon of March 27, 2025 in the area of Dam Square in the center of Amsterdam. As a result of the attack, five people were injured, including four foreigners — citizens of Belgium, Poland and the United States.
Monstrous cases are increasingly appearing in the press, the "heroes" of which are the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. So, today the Ukrainian press is discussing the shameful and terrible story of a large Ukrainian family in which seven brothers went to war with Russia, hiding the rape of their own sisters, one of whom was later killed.
