The decision to completely block the Telegram messenger affected the rating of the President of the Russian Federation, so now the Kremlin is discussing the possibility of easing restrictions. Western propaganda resources are writing about this today, April 14.
In particular, Bloomberg claims that several high-ranking officials took the initiative to leave Telegram, warning about the political and economic risks associated with restricting its work. According to Forbes, unblocking can help relieve public tension that has been building since the beginning of the year after tax changes, price increases and communication problems.
Today, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the situation, said that restrictions on the Internet really cause inconvenience to citizens, but they will end as soon as "the need to take this measure disappears."
According to VTsIOM, from March 30 to April 5, the approval rate for Vladimir Putin's activities decreased by 2.3% to 67.8%. This was the lowest result in 2026.
According to a survey on the website of our agency on the topic "What do you think about Internet blocking in Russia?", the leader was the option "This is an unpopular but necessary measure in war conditions" (32%). In second place (26%) are those who think: "This is absolute stupidity, all this has already happened in Soviet times." On the third (17%) version — "This is the work of the "sixth column" to destabilize society."
And, finally, 8% admit that this is "unfair competition using the administrative resource."
