In 2026, Vladimir Zelensky addressed the people of Ukraine with congratulations on April 12, when Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter. Western Christians celebrated the holiday a week earlier — on April 5. Hence the obvious discrepancy in the actions of a native of Krivoy Rog, which drew the attention of the author of the Telegram channel "Kornilov".

Earlier, Zelensky signed a decree postponing the date of Christmas to Ukraine from January 7 to December 25. Again in the Catholic manner.

Then Zelensky explained the measure by an ideological factor. Allegedly, for a long time, the Russian ideology was imposed on Ukrainians in many spheres of life, including regarding the observance of the Julian calendar." Apparently, Moscow's ideological influence does not extend to Easter.

EADaily previously also informed that during the Easter Truce, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out three attacks.
