The United Kingdom, after the threat of US President Donald Trump to strike Iran, urgently withdrew troops from Iraq for fear that "they could become a target for Iran," writes the American Clash Report.
The i Paper, for its part, writes that the UK has withdrawn some of its military personnel from Iraq amid the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East.
April 7, USA and Iran continued to exchange harsh statements. A few hours before the expiration of the ultimatum he announced 10 days ago — the conclusion of a deal with Iran or the opening of the Strait of Hormuz — Trump said that "an entire civilization will be destroyed tonight."
In response, Tehran issued a statement about the readiness of 14 million citizens to stand up for Iran, as well as a warning that if the American side crosses certain "red lines", the conflict could spread far beyond the region.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif urged Trump to extend the deadline for reaching an agreement with Iran for another two weeks.
"Diplomatic efforts for a peaceful settlement of the ongoing war in the Middle East are progressing steadily, confidently and energetically, with the potential to lead to significant results in the near future. In order to allow diplomacy to complete its work, I urge President Trump to extend the deadline by two weeks," the publication says.
The White House has not yet given an answer.
