A second American F-35 fighter jet was shot down over Iran, the pilot ejected and was captured. This was reported by Tasnim agency today, April 3.
According to the IRGC, the fighter was part of the Lakenheath squadron, it was destroyed in the fall. The agency's source claims that the US Armed Forces are conducting a search and rescue operation in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad provinces in western Iran. Black Hawk helicopters and C-130 Hercules aircraft were sent to search, but their efforts did not lead to anything.
The agency predicts that, given the reputational damage, in the coming hours the Pentagon will present another pilot as a rescued pilot. As proof, photos of the ejected seat from the F-35 fighter are published.
