Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin shared the details of the investigation into the murder of Lieutenant-General Fanil Sarvarov in Moscow last December.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, the head of the department said that the power of the explosive device placed under the bottom of the general's car amounted to one kilogram in TNT equivalent.
"During the investigation of the murder of General Fanil Sarvarov, it was established that the mass of the explosive placed under the bottom of his car was one kilogram in TNT equivalent," Bastrykin said.
He also noted that dozens of witnesses have already been questioned and examinations have been appointed as part of the investigation. Work on the identification of persons involved in the crime continues. The criminal case is under special control.
Recall that on the morning of December 22, Lieutenant-General Fanil Sarvarov, the head of the Operational Training Department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, was killed in a car bombing on Yaseneva Street in Moscow.
As the main version, investigators initially considered a terrorist act carried out by the Ukrainian special services.
