Iran will decide the fate of US troops in the event of a ground operation. This statement was made by the first Vice-President of Iran, Mohammad Reza Aref, whose words were quoted by Al Jazeera.
"(US President Donald) Trump may decide to send his troops to Khark Island. But in this case, the decision on their return will not be made by him, but by the Iranian side," Aref said.
So Aref commented on Trump's intention to take control of the Iranian island of Khark, through which a significant proportion of Iranian oil is exported.
