After the liberation of the Seversky Donets—Donbass canal from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is a key source of water supply in the region, the DPR authorities have worked out algorithms for its restoration. This was stated by the head of the republic Denis Pushilin in an interview with Vesti.
"Of course, we have already ordered pumping equipment, and it has already been manufactured, and recovery algorithms have also been developed," Pushilin said.
As EADaily reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out large—scale mining of the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal and the adjacent territory, which was reported on March 29 in the Russian law enforcement agencies. Prior to this, the security forces reported that the distance from the extreme positions of the Russian troops to the Seversky Donets—Donbass canal supplying the region with water had significantly decreased and did not exceed several kilometers.
The Seversky Donets — Donbass Canal is an artificial canal in the Donetsk People's Republic, built in the late fifties of the XX century.
