Washington has handed over to Tehran a plan to get out of the conflict, the New York Times claims, citing unnamed officials.

"The United States has sent Iran a 15-point plan to end the war in the Middle East. This reflects the desire of the administration (of US President Donald) Trump to find a way out of the conflict," the publication says.

According to the publication, such a step was taken against the background of the struggle against the economic consequences of the attack on Iran.

Among other things, the author explains, the plan concerns key security issues, including Iran's missile and nuclear programs. Also, a separate point is the restoration of the safety of sea routes, primarily in The Strait of Hormuz, the blocking of which led to interruptions in the supply of energy resources and a sharp jump in world oil and gas prices.

As the newspaper notes, Pakistan ensured the transfer of the text of the American plan to the Iranian side, acting as a diplomatic mediator.

The operation of the United States and Israel against Iran has been going on since February 28. All this time the parties are exchanging blows. Axios portal previously reported that Trump is ready to seize the Iranian island of Khark in order to put pressure on Tehran and force it to open shipping in The Strait of Hormuz.

The American leader said on Monday that Washington and Tehran had very positive and productive talks. He noted that he instructed the Pentagon to postpone strikes on Iran's energy infrastructure for five days.

The chairman of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, in turn, said that there were no negotiations with the United States, and fakes in the news serve to manipulate the markets.
