The oil terminal in Novorossiysk resumed operation at the weekend.
"The Sheskharis oil terminal in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk resumed loading over the weekend, which brought some relief to the world market amid the conflict in the Middle East," Bloomberg reports.
According to him, the tankers Psara I and Hanuman are currently moored at the first and second berths. There is also a Briont tanker at the seventh berth, a port agent told the agency.
Each of these tankers can carry 150 thousand tons of oil.
"The resumption of flows from a key Russian terminal eases some pressure on global supplies, as several key producers in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, have reduced production due to the shutdown of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz," Bloomberg added.
As EADaily reported, on the night of March 2, Ukrainian drones attacked the port infrastructure of Novorossiysk. As a result, a fire broke out at the Sheskharis oil loading complex, which is Russia's largest export port in the Black Sea. Its capacity is 500 thousand barrels per day.
This morning, oil continued to rise in price and in the morning the benchmark Brent rose to almost $ 120 per barrel. However, by the evening the price dropped to $ 101.
