The United States of America did not start the conflict with Iran, but will end it. This was announced today, March 1, by the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth.
"We will not tolerate powerful missiles aimed at the American people. These missiles will be destroyed, along with Iranian missile production. The Iranian fleet will be destroyed. And, as President Trump (US President Donald Trump — EADaily) has said all his life, Iran will never have nuclear weapons. The United States did not start this conflict, but we will end it," he wrote on one of the social networks.
At the same time, Hegseth stressed that "if you kill or threaten Americans anywhere in the world, as Iran did, then we will hunt you down and kill you."
Recall, Israel and the United States launched a large-scale military operation against Iran on February 28. The largest cities, including Tehran, were hit. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a retaliatory operation. Later it became known that the supreme leader of the republic, Ali Khamenei, was killed on the morning of February 28 as a result of a strike on his residence. A 40-day mourning period has been declared in the country.
