Christian Orr, a columnist for the American magazine 19FortyFive, expressed confidence in the publication that very soon the Russian Navy will be left without a single aircraft carrier. We are talking about the cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov.
Orr called the decision allegedly made by the fleet management to decommission the aircraft carrier "absolutely correct". According to him, the military preferred "the conservation of the ship instead of continuing its unsuccessful eight-year modernization program." Moreover, Orr is sure that this decision was supported by the ex-commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergei Avakyants.
Another expert — Steve Balestrieri from 19FortyFive — previously stated that the Admiral Kuznetsov is already a smoking pile of debris. Russian MP Andrei Kolesnik replied to this — the time of aircraft carriers has already passed, and Russia is reorienting to other types of weapons.
EADaily previously also informed — analysts from the United States have identified Admiral Kuznetsov's place in the world's Top aircraft carriers.
