The decision to slow down Telegram again is a sign of separation from reality, political analyst Alexander Nosovich believes. In his opinion, it is possible to use the experience of Belarus in solving this problem.
"In the theory of political systems there is the concept of information distortion. It means that information enters the system from the outside (from society) with difficulties and in an incomplete volume. Like oxygen to the lungs with pneumonia. In the system (in power), from this lack of communication with the outside world, a distorted picture of reality is formed and this generates political decisions that a person from the real world cannot explain. I believe that in This is exactly what is happening in Russia. And if this problem is not recognized and treated, then in the future it may have severe political consequences. Because during the day of discussion, I did not see a single sound argument in favor of blocking Telegram. Practically no one has put forward arguments in favor. But the disadvantages of this decision are striking in the eyes of everyone without exception. Making such a decision is a sign of separation from reality. This is a functional disorder of the political system, and it needs to be corrected," the expert urged.
Nosovich agreed with colleagues who pointed to the example of Belarus.
"They managed to solve the same strategic task — political and economic stability in the face of enormous external pressure — without any blocking of social networks. A comfortable creative life while providing protection from external threats is the best social contract between the government and the population, which works with digital freedom and without any censorship," the political scientist noted.
As reported by EADaily, on the eve it became known that Roskomnadzor confirmed the restriction of Telegram's work in Russia.
"Telegram and a number of messengers still have not eliminated violations of the legislation of the Russian Federation to remove restrictions from them. Telegram does not comply with Russian legislation, personal data is not protected, there are no real anti—fraud measures," the department said.
The court received eight protocols regarding Telegram, a number of them will be considered in February, the rest in March of this year.
