General Vladimir Alekseev is conscious and talking. This is reported by military correspondent Alexander Kots with reference to Alekseev's wife.
"General Alekseev is conscious, talking, although the injuries are, of course, severe. Two bullets hit the abdominal cavity, one in the leg. There were no chest wounds, contrary to reports. But it could have been much worse. It's just that the killer, obviously, did not prepare for the fact that he would be rebuffed," writes Kotz in his telegram channel.
Kotz believes that Alekseev, a graduate of the Ryazan Airborne School, immediately understood what was going on, so "in the narrow elevator lobby he went for an instant rapprochement with the killer and did not let him raise the gun to head level."
"The wound in the leg most likely indicates that Stepanych intercepted the hand with the barrel. He also managed to drag the killer in. This reaction saved the life of the general. Plus, the spouse lit up her leg and closed the wounds with what was at hand," the military correspondent added.
As EADaily reported, the detainee in the UAE for the attempted murder of General Vladimir Alekseev is a native of the Ternopil region of the Ukrainian SSR, now a citizen of Russia. This was announced today, February 8, by the official representative of the RF IC Svetlana Petrenko.
Recall, on February 6, an attempt was made on the first Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Alekseev, in the north-west of Moscow. The killer fired several shots at his back in a residential building on the Volokolamsk Highway and disappeared.
