The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, has opened a criminal case against the judge of the Sochi District Court, Valery Sluka, for abuse of office and knowingly unlawful decisions. This was reported in the press service of the department.
"The chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, with the consent of the Higher Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation, initiated a criminal case on seven episodes of crimes under part 2 of Article 286, part 1 of Article 305 of the Criminal Code (abuse of office, making knowingly unjust decisions) against the judge of the Central District Court of Sochi Valery Sluka, whose powers were terminated prematurely.", — the message says.
According to investigators, in the period from June 23, 2021 to July 8, 2022, Judge Sluka, exceeding his official powers, in violation of territorial jurisdiction, unreasonably accepted citizens' claims for production. Without actual consideration, examination of evidence, without involving representatives of the defendant and interested parties, he made seven knowingly unjust decisions that entailed the illegal seizure of land plots in the city of Sochi from municipal ownership.
"In the appellate instance, the decisions of Judge Sluka were canceled, new decisions were made to dismiss the claims, the land plots were returned to municipal ownership," the RF IC said.
Investigative actions are being carried out in the criminal case aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crimes committed and securing the evidence base.
