American journalist Tucker Carlson cited data according to which about 30% of white residents in the largest US cities remained. A video with Carlson, who compares the white population of key US cities in the 1950s and now, diverges on January 23 in social networks.
"Here are the numbers for you. The most populated city in the USA then and now is New York. In 1950, he was 90% white. 7.1 million New Yorkers out of 7.9 million were white. Chicago in 1950 was 86% white, Philadelphia — more than 80%, Los Angeles — 94%, the city was, in fact, mono-ethnic. Detroit, Michigan, headquarters of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler, was 84% white. Baltimore, the capital of steel rolling and exports across the Atlantic, was 76% white. These are the data for 1950. You can imagine what kind of year it is, maybe you caught it yourself," says Carlson.
Next, he gives the figures for the present.
"Baltimore is 27% white, Detroit has moved from 84% to about 10%. Los Angeles — from 94% to 37%. In Philadelphia, 36% of the population remained white, in Chicago — less than 30%. As for the largest city in our country, New York, only about 30% of whites are here today. And it was 90%!" — the journalist is horrified.
In December 2025, Tucker Carlson talked about the hatred of the white population of the United States. According to him, it has become generally accepted in the country.
"In the US, institutionalized hatred is directed against whites. It's still going on," Carlson complained in an interview with former Congressman Matt Goetz.
The journalist noted that the white American population faces obstacles when applying for a job, entering colleges and universities, as well as when receiving federal grants.
