According to the publication Military Watch Magazine (MWM), the The Russian Aerospace Forces Su-35S fighters have proven themselves to be an escort for long-range aircraft performing scheduled flights. We are talking about escorting, for example, bombers flying 2 thousand kilometers or more.
"The Su-35 is particularly well suited for escorting bombers due to its long flight range of about 2,000 kilometers, which is almost twice as long as Western fighters such as the F-22 and F-35," Western analysts wrote.
The Su-35S fighter, experts of the publication added, carries with it a powerful H035 Irbis radar, which allows early detection of threats at a distance of up to 400 km.
Analysts also cited the current known characteristics of the Su-35S generation 4++, which became a continuation of the Su-27. The fighter received AL-41F-1C engines with a controlled thrust vector from the designers, thanks to which it has increased maneuverability. The Su-35S is capable of carrying various types of weapons, including long-range R-37M air-to-air missiles.
