In Russia, the use of Stalin-era cannons on SMO was explained

Gun M-46 in Military History Museum of Artillery of St. Petersburg

In the SMO area, as Izvestia found out, the M-46 guns, developed back in the time of Joseph Stalin, are still used. This type of weapon, the source writes, is appreciated by the military of the Russian Ministry of Defense for its range.

In parallel with the M-46 and to adjust their work on the spot, reconnaissance drones are operating. Such a tandem makes it possible to effectively hit fortifications and strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"That's because they still remain one of the most long-range weapons in their class. This is one of the reasons why the M-46 is in demand today," the publication informs.

Thus, in some SMO areas, the aspect of artillery mobility has faded into the background, and the firing range has come to the fore. The source clarifies that the M-46 began to be produced back in 1951, it is a gun with a 7-meter barrel, firing active-rocket projectiles at a distance of up to 37 km.

EADaily previously reported that experts called Zircon a "death sentence" for any enemy.
