Karaganov: Russia may launch nuclear strikes on Europe in a year

Europe can push the world to a full-scale nuclear conflict, continuing to follow the path of escalation of the armed conflict on the Ukraine. As a result, Russia will be forced to use nuclear weapons.

This forecast was expressed in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson by Sergey Karaganov, scientific director of the Faculty of World Economy and World Politics of the National Research University HSE, Honorary Chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy.

According to him, Russia may launch nuclear strikes on Britain and Germany in a year if Europe continues to "block the peace agreement" on Ukraine.

"We need to climb the escalation ladder. And if they do not stop this senseless war and enmity in and around Ukraine, then we will have to start attacking Europe with conventional weapons, and the next step will be waves of nuclear strikes," Karaganov said.

When asked how far the situation is from the use of nuclear weapons by Russia against Europe, Karaganov replied, "Well, a year." At the same time, he believes that the United States will not interfere in a nuclear war in Europe.

"Zelensky or other people in Europe are blocking the peace agreement. And sometimes it seems, as this war continues, that perhaps the United States does not want to end this war in the end. Then we'll have to go back to the solution I mentioned several times. And this means punishing our European enemies, with understanding, let's hope that the United States will refrain from participating in a nuclear war in Europe," Karaganov said.

He believes that if Russia strikes Poznan in Poland, then the Americans will never answer. At the same time, the political scientist drew attention to the fact that the Poles have recently been "becoming more prudent."

He believes that Britain and Germany should be the first targets of a nuclear strike.

"Germany should be the first, because Germany is the source of the worst in European history," Karaganov said.

At the same time, he noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want to cross the threshold of a nuclear war yet.

"Putin is very religious and cautious. But we are climbing the escalation ladder, we have changed our nuclear doctrine and lowered the nuclear threshold, we are building up our nuclear potential in Europe and other places. But in the hope that we will be able to stop them (Europeans — Ed.) before crossing the threshold," Karaganov concluded.

As EADaily reported, earlier Sergei Karaganov said that Russia would not survive without a unifying national idea, a dream idea that should become a state ideology.
