The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff ended after lasting almost five hours, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
Negotiations between the Russian leader and the American delegation began around 19.40, around this time the first footage of the meeting from the Kremlin was published.
Putin on Tuesday evening received Witkoff and the son-in-law of the American president, the founder of Affinity Partners, Jared Kushner, in the Kremlin. On the Russian side, the meeting was attended by Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov and Special Presidential Envoy for Investment and Economic cooperation with foreign countries, CEO of RDIF Kirill Dmitriev.
Witkoff's current trip to Russia is already the sixth this year. Trump's special envoy came to Moscow on February 11 and March 13, and in April visited the country twice: on April 11, he met with Putin in St. Petersburg, on April 25 - in Moscow. The contacts were related to Ukrainian issues.
